The Chicago Blackhawks have excitement surrounding them with the 2016 World Cup of Hockey approaching quickly.As August comes to an end, players from around the NHL have started preparing for training for the tournament.Though thirteen members of the Blackhawks were originally slotted to take part in the event, there were some changes this past week.Duncan Keith will no longer be joining Team Canada for the games.

Winning the World Cup of Hockey for Canada would be nice and all, but Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith has bigger goals in mind for the upcoming season.The Blackhawks announced Wednesday that Keith will forgo next month's World Cup of Hockey to continue rehabbing his right knee.Keith underwent surgery to repair a right knee meniscus tear in October of 2015.
