Team Canada' defensive corps for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey took a hit Wednesday as it was announced that Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith will be unable to participate.He is being replaced by St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester on the roster for the event which begins Sept. 17.According to a statement released by the Chicago Blackhawks, the two-time Norris Trophy winner is continuing to rehab a right knee injury he sustained during the 2015-16 season.

TORONTO -St. Louis Blues defenceman Jay Bouwmeester was added to Canada's roster for the World Cup of hockey on Wednesday to replace Duncan Keith of the Chicago Blackhawks.Keith withdrew from the tournament as he continues to rehabilitate his right knee.He had surgery in October 2015 to repair a meniscal tear in the joint, but returned to the ice by November to help lead Chicago to the post-season.
