The Chicago Blackhawks have excitement surrounding them with the 2016 World Cup of Hockey approaching quickly.As August comes to an end, players from around the NHL have started preparing for training for the tournament.Though thirteen members of the Blackhawks were originally slotted to take part in the event, there were some changes this past week.Duncan Keith will no longer be joining Team Canada for the games.

Naming Sidney Crosby captain of Team Canada was pretty much a given.But having Claude Giroux fully healthy for the World Cup of Hockey certainly wasn't.That's why the revelation from Canadian general manager Doug Armstong Thursday that Giroux, of the Philadelphia Flyers, is fully fit and ready to go for the start of training camp in Ottawa on Sept. 5 was a boost for a squad that saw banged-up players Jamie Benn and Duncan Keith bow out of the tournament earlier this week.
